This policy explains what member information WAAAUB Qatar Chapter's platform collects and how alumni privacy is protected. It is a plain-language summary, not legal advice — the chapter will publish a counsel-reviewed policy before the platform handles member data at scale.

1. Information we collect

Account details you provide (name, email, AUB graduation year, faculty/degree, field), any profile content you add, and basic technical information such as sign-in activity needed to keep the platform secure.

2. How we use information

To verify your AUB alumni status, operate the registry, job board, business and services directories and events, and to keep the platform secure. We do not sell member data or use it for advertising.

3. Who can see your information

Your name, graduation year, faculty/degree and field are visible only to other signed-in, verified alumni — never to the public internet or search engines. Your email and phone number are hidden by default and shown to other members only if you turn on visibility for that specific field. You can change these choices at any time from your profile.

4. Data storage & residency

Application data is hosted in Doha, Qatar. Some AI-assisted features may process data via Google Cloud's global AI infrastructure rather than a Qatar-only endpoint.

5. Sharing & third parties

We use third-party services to operate the platform, such as email/SMS delivery and Eventbrite for event registration. We do not sell alumni data to advertisers or data brokers.

6. Your rights

You can review, correct, or delete your profile information, and control which contact fields are visible, at any time from your account. Contact us if you need help with a request.
